Loutraki has itself many areas of natural beauty. The city is built in the northern side of the Corinth gulf and is extended at the foot of Gerania mountain range. The combination of sea and mountain is unique.
The city is a famous summer resort not only for its 4 km beach, but also for its numerous beaches and places for summer relaxation nearby such as:
Vouliagmeni Lake has magical scenery and is only 20km away from the centre of Loutraki.
The Isthmus Canal is 4km from Loutraki. The canal is 6.5km long and 25m wide.
The highest point is approximately 100m. During the summer months several boats offer small cruises around the Corinth Gulf and the Isthmus Canal.
Isthmia was the city where the Isthmian Celebrations were held. These were the most widely known ancient games after the Olympic Games.
Heraion of Perachora where the ruins of the famous sanctuary of Hera are located along with one of the oldest stone built lighthouses.
Alkionides islands are a place of wild natural beauty.
Diolkos, is an ancient construction built by Corinthian tyrant, Periandros, which connected Isthmia and Posidonia. Corinthians used the Diolkos in order to transfer ships from Saronicos gulf to Corinth gulf in the era prior the Isthmus construction.
Gerania Mountains where the monasteries of Saint Patapios and Prophet Elias can be found at an altitude of 700m.
